Vcore Voltages on E6400

So i have an antec P180b case and the Mobo cooling is fine (four fans). However, with the Intel Proc E6400 (2.13 GHz)'s stock fan, I'm not too sure about how far i can Overclock it.

I already changed the specs to:
2.66 GHz
Vcore: 1.27
Memory Voltage: 2.00

I'm not too sure about that Vcore and i'm thinking of getting the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 to play it safe.

I have pretty much the same setup...E6400 L2 stepping, 4 fans, and same case with an AC Pro 7, I currently have it at 2.9 @ 1.35 volts stock @48~50C idle and ~70C under load...the temps are a little high, but it gets the job done. When I go to anything higher then 3.0 then I start getting instability errors in orthos after about 20 minutes

My e6400 is running at 1.135V at 8*300. Idle temps are around 45C Loaded reports in TAT of 55C

Stock cooler or something better? That sounds too good to be true for stock.

I'm running mine at 2.66GHz at 1.29vcore. I was running 1.27Vcore but that proved to be unstable (my board has some vdroop), failing Orthos after several hours. CPU idles at 39°, load never goes over 58°. Memory is at 1.92V. I use a P5N-E SLI.

I was running 2.98 but that required me to push Vcore to above 1.35v to achieve stability, which is something I'm not ready to do until I get better cooling.

thanks for the replies. yeah I'm leaning towards getting a new CPU cooler and THEN trying out more OC'ing stuff. I really don't want to fry any of my parts. = ]

You wont fry your parts. Just overclock. if it doesnt work, just reset your bios settings and try again.
