Vcore voltage on a Duron ?

Whats the specified vcore voltage on a 700 Duron. I went to the Amd site but i could not find any charts or tech info on the Duron. I am going to build a Duron based system for a friend on monday, so i want to get all my homework done now. Thanks

In the Tech Doc section, select Duron spec in pdf form. Toward the end of the document, you will see something like "D600AST1B" and explain what individual letters/numerals stand for. As far as I know, all Durons are 1.6V. Experts, please correct me if I am wrong.

It's 1.6v. But you souldn't have to worry about it, because when you startup
your system the processor will run at its default rated speed and voltage, and they can only be
adjusted if the processor is unlocked(L1 bridges are closed), and then the user manually
changes them in either the bios or with switches on the motherboard (if mobo allows for it, not all do)

Thanks Wellduhh, It has been awhile since I built anything with a Amd processor in it. I thought you had to manualy adjust the vcore like on a K6-2. I wanted to know the correct voltage since I have found many of the Msi boards dont seem to pick up the default voltage from the vids and you have to manually adjust the vcore in the bios, This has been my experiance with Msi boards with Intel chipsets atleast. Anyway thanks for the info.

About 15% of Duron chips run at 1.5V core.

I haven't determined if that is an "older" setting or if chips are "rated" for 1.5V when they are surprerior cores. The chips i have that default to 1.5V all run 1GHz- the 1.6V CPUs run about 950. Maybe that's random since I only have 4 of them.

This info is not reflected in the techdocs but I have seen many chips to prove it.

What other info were you looking for?

my duron 700 run at 1,67 V on ABIT KT7
well dont worry at all ,it can work till 2.00V without problem if you have good fan

Iapup I hope your right about the durons at 1.5 vcore running a 1GHz mine is a 600 came unlocked and is running at 1.5 vcore right now at 650 afraid to bump it up its a week 26 not to good.
