vcore mod and longevity

Hey! I have a quick question for you guys. I have a 1600+ XP and am trying to wring everything I can out of it. First off, do you guys think 1.57 ghz is pretty decent for this chip? Secondly, I don't want to jeopardize the longevity of this computer. I don't mind upgrading the chip in a year or so if I can get a significant boost but in the meantime I can't afford a replacement. I had to boost the vcore by .025v to make it stable at that speed. Is this a problem or is my chip going to die in a week? I read a lot on here about ocing and have heard that it won't significantly change the life of parts while it is still viable but I don't know how vcore affects that. Thanks for anything you guys can tell me!

Some people boost their chips to 2.3v and use watercooling and the things still last awhile. That kind of voltage increase that you're talking about shouldn't be any problem.
