Vcore discrepancies in the Bios vs. OS

Ok Guys, heres the deal, I was overclocking my AMD 64 3200+ on my MSI Neo2 Platinum. I couldn't really push it past 2500 mHz mark, so i decided to drop my multiplier down and get a bigger FSB. I finally ended up at 2.35 ghz with a 290 mhz FSB at an 8 multiplier. Which I think is pretty decent...any opinions? My Vcore is at 1.55 with a 5% increase, and Vdimm is at 2.8. Now, my question is my effective voltage (Vcore) should be...

1.55 * 0.05 = 0.0775 + 1.55 = 1.6275 V.

Well, in MSI's built in monitor "Corecenter" is says I am running at 1.52 V and CPUID fluctuates between 1.48 and 1.52. Which is right, the bios or corecenter and CPUID? My temps are also good as i idle at 37-40 C and load at 47-50C on stock heatsink.

I would be more trustful of the BIOS readings versus what CoreCenter is telling you.

Trying downloading Speedfan and Motherboard Monitor to see how their readings compare to the BIOS/MSI.

Look under H/W monitor in the bios after making your changes and rebooting to have the changes take effect.

My voltages in bios under H/W monitor match Corecenter and MBM and eveyrthing else pretty closely. (with the usual "fluctuations")

Dont go by the "numbers" you set in the bios cuz the board undervolts.

Mine sets vcore at 1.42 - 1.44v ACTUAL VOLTAGE when i set it to 1.55v under the cell menu.

Then using +3.3% , +5% etc..etc.. raise the voltage accordingly using the starting 1.44v ACTUAL VOLTAGE not the 1.55v setting.

Hey, i cranked up my voltage a little, and now I load at 56 C, is that too hot?

Some people will disagree with me, but I think a 56C load temperature is perfectly acceptable. Hell, I'm idling at 52C right now...of course, my CPU is running nearly 1GHz over stock too. 😛
