VCore at 1.92 w/o O/C. Too high?

Im running a 900mhz T-bird on my A7V, the Vcore runs at 1.92. The chip isnt overclocked or anything. Is this normal? Thanks
 
This is not normal, but if you have closed the L7 bridges, the default voltage would be 1.85 which is read by almost all the mobos as 1.92. (I don't know whether it is actually 1.92 or not, if you set up 1.85 in bios, what you read is 1.92)
 
So youre saying my Vcore could actually be 1.85 but my Asus probe is just too dumb too recognize it? What is typically considered too high for a Vcore level? Thanks
 
you said you are not overclocking and i don't see why you would have closed the L7 bridges...therefore, the voltage should be the default 1.75
 
it's bad in the sense that the cpu is running hotter than it should for no good reason (because it's having more juice pumped through it than it needs). maybe the asus probe is wrong? get sisoft sandra and see what that program says and check in the bios and see what it says? on the a7v is the voltage adjustable in the bios? with dip switches? it might just be set to the wrong voltage
 
Thanks, I did just check the BIOS, the highest it goes is 1.85 so im guessing that thats what its running at and that Asus probe is just dumb. Is 1.85 ok? By the way, in reference to zzzz's post, what are L7 bridges and what function do the play in OCing? Thanks again
 
did you buy the cpu from someone else? That person might have closed to L7 bridges to overclock more. You can use the jumpers on your mobo to lower the voltage. I wish we could do this through bios but my A7V133 doesn't allow me. I think your mobo should be the same. BTW, you can try motherboard monitor but I think it will also give same value.
 
No, i bought the CPU in October, back when it was top of the line 🙁 from SMK Internet Components, I cant imagine how the L7 bridges would have gotten closed, oh well, if 1.85 I guess i wont worry about it. My motherboard does let me lower the voltage through the BIOS, i tried that but with everything less i seemed to get errors. Thanks
 
you probably have the 4 jumpers on the motherboard in the wrong place, all the way to the inside = default all the way to the outside = 1.85
