vcard with no fan

My sister was complaining about loud noise from her computer.
I went over and after inspecting it, it turns out to be bad fan on video card
Fan turns but not smooth, but jurks around.
I disconnected the fan, but i wonder if it's gonna be ok...
it's a TNT2 M64, it has thin black heat sink on it.
I figure the bad fan probably wasn't flowing air properly anyway so why not just disconnect it.
She lives far away and I had to leave soon so I didn't have time to put a new fan on the card.
she doesn't play any games, just homeworks and internet.
Would the card last couple of years without the fan?
thanks

should be OK for now... when you go back and visit throw out the Fan alltogether and set her up with a purely passive heatsink.

With no gaming it should be ok as long as there is enough air flow in the case. A lot of tnt2's have no fan.

My mate runs a GF2 MX (175mhz Core) with no heatsink OR fan and he games a fair bit....no probs....I myself would not run any GPU faster than 150mhz without a heatsink, I think the TNT2 M64 has a 125mhz Core so you're fine.
