Mantle might alter that with games supported.

It might. But I expect to see 780ti ahead of 290X in launch reviews. It will be about 10% faster than throttling 290X. Then AMD will have custom 290X models that tie 780ti. And then overclocked 780Ti be on top (gibbo@OCUK said780Ti is very good OCer on air) of all.

DCU, Windforce and smaller cost versions may be the salvation to 290X value after 780Ti launch.

Other thing that i wanna see is what a full redesign of the board(PCB+Colling+VRMs and electricals) can make to 290X in terms of heat, noise and overclocking potential. And of course, the dream of have a card locked on 1000Mhz.

I agree, but only partially. From technological stand point - yes. The gains over last gen are big. But from the consumer stand point - no. Last two years have been nothing but a milking fest! Only recently amd brought some sanity to pricing, still could be a little better. Lets see what 780Ti does for consumer.

The milking did suck for sure, hell i never could have afforded a Titan and i felt bad for the people who had one when the 780 came out....luckily the smart ones sold their Titans faster then they could click the buy button on the 780s and in the end a few people made money off the Titans while swapping.:)One guy sold his Titans for $800 when he picked up two $650 780s and made a cool $300 to pocket.

the bottom one was your card, no I don't see the pen mark, you messing with me?

Not sure about Sli yet. I think I would like to but that is a lot of money that I'm not sure I want to spend again. I only went Sli with 780's for educational purposes. I do it every gen to see how the tech progresses. I can honestly say that I'm very impressed.

Congrats on being a dad, I got #2 in the oven right now. #1 just got out of diapers so I'll be getting about a 6 month break before I have to start doing that again. =) Good luck.

Yep, just messing. I got you there! Probably would want to wait for the 6gb models to consider IMO. 3gb is stretching it for high resolution.

Thanks for the congrats. I am nervous for sure right now. I am sure it will ease up the closer we come by to the delivery date.

So toms hardware is the only place I have seen with BF4 results and based on that nvidia is kind of a loser at $700. Don't get me wrong I am sporting 3x 680s but it's hard to argue with 2x 290s doing so well. At least I have no reason to upgrade now.

The new 780 should have started at 600. Lack of 4gb of memory is a deal killer for sure.

Looks like they limited memory to keep us buying new releases in the future. Only conclusion I can come up with.

You can't even resell a 780 for $500 now. So he lost that $300 anyway. :p

(I would have done the same but I do need the DP)
