Honestly, what is the big hold up? Has there ever been a straight answer given? If not, why not?

The real joke is that a "tech" website is using some of the worst forum software ever written. The fact that we are guinea pigs for each terrible iteration of it, and that tech discussion is more in the back alley than center stage is icing on the shit joke that is AT forums.

Imagine if they did add the 6 word limit.

This. This. This. This. This. This.

If they did add a 6 word limit, all you would have to do is quote whoever you were replying to and type "This." One word response, but you've still got more than six words in your post by virtue of quoting someone who had to meet the six word limit themselves. Is that really so hard to comprehend? And yes, I know this whole thing was a joke, but people in this thread kept bringing this up without thinking about it for 3 fucking seconds to realize that virtually every post that's ever consisted of the word "This" quotes somebody else. Even "Originally posted by: ____" earns you four words from the start, so even if they only said "This" and you responded "That," it's still six words! GAH! BRAGHGA! ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER EXCLAMATORY NOISES!

OK, I feel better.

Also, nested NEF Quotes will earn a vacation quickly.

Ask some of the veterans here:D

The big hold up is a counterproductive baseless moderator fear of the scary unknown forum bugs and exploits mixed in with a large dose of extreme procrastination by those involved bordering on habitual apathy and even occasionally almost criminal negligence (such as this poor taste April fools post demonstrates) and on top of that the added fact Anand obviously isn't concerned enough to give a crap about the switch over anytime in our lifetimes.

And there's the little known fact they probably have some iron clad contract with FusedBawked and they are trying to wring every possible tech support bug ticket out of them that they can before they dump on them altogether when the contract finally expires, whenever that is.

But while we patiently wait forever while being teased, tricked, fooled and strung along like a jackass following a carrot on a stick, we can ponder the fact that if this forum actually made any MONEY off these babbling brook lifer types, then this forum change over would have occurred about 8 years ago.

So what we get in return is what we don't have to pay for. Our incessant complaining about this forum software is about like asking for a free ride to go somewhere, and then complaining that the car is ugly, smells funny, and the seats are uncomfortable.

Well, actually, not one big joke. But you'll have to wait to see which changes were a joke & which changes actually will take place. :p

IIRC, there may be a longer minimum length for a reply than currently exists.
