So. Just some FYI. Vasectomies are safer, quicker, more effective, have considerably less complications, and are much simpler, less invasive surgeries. Also they are fairly inexpensive. And you don't have to worry about knocking up your secretary.

Remember, it can take up to 70 times and 3-4 months to completely "clean the pipes". There has been many a Post-Vasectomy baby conceived in the 3-4 month period.

You got hosed. They gave me two valium. I figured I'd take one before the procedure and save the other one for the weekend, but ended up taking both before the procedure.

I don't want to go too far into P&N territory here, but I say we incentivize it (pay people as said earlier) or just outright require it. If up to 49% of births are accidents we would should easily save more than it would cost. We can even pick up the tab for the reversal and throw in a happy ending.

You are the second person I have heard say this...the other guy actually thought the doc gives you anti-erection pills😀

The incisions are on your scrotum, not your dick...an erection won't cause you any pain unless you try to use it for something😉

Erections are no big deal. It's bouncing/hopping that will get you. Do not, under ANY circumstance jump off of any thing or do any activity that will juggle the undercarriage. A jock is your best friend. Keep things high and tight for a week until you heal up.
 
Had my vasectomy in 2000. As long as you pay attention to dos & donts the doc gives you, there will be no problem. Keep your boys iced the first two days, no lifting, etc.
 
Mine is scheduled for July 11. My only worry is that I don't want it to decrease my libido but Dr. and others who have had it done say it won't.

No more babies! Only 8 years and both of mine will be out of high school!

Yeah they recommended I wear a jock strap for a few days. I don't have one so have been walking around supporting "myself". Otherwise, no big deal so far. I don't know why they gave me vicodin, it doesn't hurt. Just aches like a poster said before about feeling being kicked in the balls.

You stash the vicodin away for those odd job weekends where your wife decides...oh it'd be so nice to have a retaining wall in the backyard! So being the loving husband you are you bust your back and balls digging and lugging stone around for 14 hours only to feel like you've been hit by a bulldozer that night or the next day. Pop one of these guys and you'll be feeling much better.

Had mine today. They just use local freezing here. Needles in the sack hurts.

But you know the worst thing about local anesthetic? Sometimes doesn't go where you want. Puncturing the sack on the left, didn't feel it. Cutting the vas, didn't feel it. Cauterizing the vas with a super heated needle? Sure as hell felt that. Most painful thing ever. Felt like someone crushed my left nut.

Oh and for pain after, we get prescription for Tylenol 3s and ice.

Umm...no, an erection doesn't hurt in the least...trying to bang a ho in the first couple days won't turn out well, but an erection in and of itself causes no discomfort despite what some morons want you to believe

Btw I'm 4 weeks out and balling my wife nightly with no discomfort at all😉

yea i got a Valium and a local. on the drive home my wife stopped at the store to get something so i waiting in the car. i saw the 4 tylenol my doc gave her for me to take and i was just starting to feel the ache from the local wearing off. so i popped the 2 Tylenol out of the blister pack and swalled them. my wife gets in the car and sees two of them gone and said did you take both? i was like yea my balls are starting to hurt. she said you dumbass those are Tylenol III....... lol 30 min later i was higher than shit. 😎
