Various chipsets and Internet connection

I'm just wondering what you people think of going with an Asus A8V-E SE with the VIA K8T890 chipset to avoid the Nvidia firewall. I read even if you don't install it, it installs itself and always impacts your Internet connection. I already have Zonealarm so I don't want a second firewall to impact my connection. It sucks. 😱

By the way, I wonder if that mobo can work well with a 1T command rate with 2X1GB of OCZ Platinum RAM. I have an Athlon 3700+ socket 754 on an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe with that RAM and I was thinking of going with an Athlon single core 4000+ and the same RAM on a Asus A8V-E SE to see if that would work better. I've had random crashes that I suspect might be caused by the 1T command rate. I'm too cheap to get a Core 2 Duo and besides, I already have that expensive RAM.
