/var/log/boot not updating! (OS=GNU/Linux)

Anyone have any ideas why my /var/log/boot would be from last year when I reboot every day? It doesn't seem to be updating and the permissions are normal.
 
I'm using debian unstable. I'm thinking I need to get bootlogd to run at startup.

As for the frequent rebooting, it isn't M$ syndrome-- I have a laptop. 🙂
