Vantec Tornado

Just got my Vantec tornado 80mm fan today and i just installed it. i have it set as my rear exaust fan and man does thsi think move some air. i dont notice the noise because it just blends into teh noise my other fans make.

i currentily have 5 fans that push arround 400CFMs of air total about 200 in and 200 out. a lil more out i think wiich is good. its keepin my system runnin cool at 31C case temp of 21C

I'll say, a man can only take that type of noise for so long.

no im not def. actually my hearing is quite good. i have 3 120 mm fans all whih produce about 45-48 decibles of noise. A delta scremer on my SK-6 which is like 50 decibles. a papst 80mm fan which is qute. and i just added teh vantec so it really goes unnoticed

Lol! Ummm that would drive me nutz! I have 3 vantec 80mm stealth case fans 1 blowing air in and 2 blowing air out the back, A Thermaltalk SLK800 w/ a Sunon High Output 80mm fan on top of the heatsink which produces about 40Db and a PCI slot cooling fan which is rather quiet and a Harddrive cooler which is about 30db's so I produce a fair amount of noise.

The 120mm fans you have are really okay considering the larger the fan the less noise you produce and the more air flow you get so I think that's good but the Vantec Tornado I have heard first hand and I wouldn't dare use that in a system that was in the same room as myself. I think it's best for servers where the computers are in a different room. Anyway if you are okay with the noise then I suppose that's all that matters.

I hope you have your system overclocked to truly insane levels to justify all that noise.
