Vantec Tornado

I am going to buy a vantec tornado fan (80mm) to put on my processor. I have a Msi KT3 Ultra2 (6380-E) mainboard. Will I be able to plug this fan into my board? I have looked on the internet for the price but I cannot find one. Please can you find me a price in the UK.

Thanks

No it does not plug into your motherboard for its power. You hook it up to a molex connector. There is however a fan header which connects to your mobo to tell it the RPM, etc.

It is very loud as I can attest to after seeing/hearing it at my friends. But it will keep everything nice and cool!

I just bought one of these fans and returned it the same day, it sounded like a freakin' blowdryer! Honestly, I don't see how people can stand the noise of these fans. It was extremely powerful though.

Get a rheobus to keep the noise level down... lower the rpm until you have a nice balance between cooling and noise.... and as for modifying wires to make connectors fit... not recomended but I've done it to connect my tornado to a thermaltake fan controller, which is then hooked to psu through 4 pin molex.... works okay, meduium setting still maintains okay noise levels....
