Vantec 92mm Stealth = bs

I bought these to ziptie to the front of my antec p180.

And let me tell you, they are NOT 20dba. They are louder than my 3 yateloons running full blast and even if I turn the Vantec down with a fan controller, it still is the loudest one out of the family of 5 fans. It's a whining noise, not wind noise..

Sigh, another dud purchase.

Quite frankly once burnwed you will never buy anything Vantec agaiin!! Vantec is real low on the food chain compared to other fan makers such as Coolermaster which I use exclusively!!!

Um... return them and get something else?!?!?

Whenever I buy an unknown, I ALWAYS check out the return policy. If 'they' don't have a liberal return policy (and most places do) I shop elsewhere!

This is no bull...

When I was looking for a cordless phone, I bought and returned 10 of them -- same way with my radar detector. At one time I could name them all -- but I ended up with a Uniden phone (with a voice scrambler) and a high-end Bel-Tronics detector. And, I'm tickled pink with them!!!

I've bought Vantec fans, in a pinch, at Fry's Electronics. They're okay, but I prefer Antec TriCools, at the moment. Next time, who knows? I'm not stuck on any particular brand of fan. If I bought a POS Vantec, I wouldn't eat it and hate them the rest of my life -- I'd make them eat it!

Anyway, I don't have a problem returning stuff and neither do the businesses I deal with -- matter of fact, I kind of enjoy it -- soooo... 😉

Or you can reasearch and never buy something with a bogus review from more than 2 reliable sources (online forums for example).

I had 2 80mm vantec stealth fans before and ended up trading them for other fans. I traded the one for a Tt smart fan with a control knob and even that thing was quieter than the stealth was.

My experience with Thermaltake has been even worse than Vantec. The Vantecs are still much closer to specification than the Thermaltake fans. Just run one of those "21dba" Thunderblades and you'll know what I mean.

I would go with Nexus or Antec Tricool for really low nosie fans.

Yate Loon > all others for performance vs noise.

The thermaltake thunderblade 80mm fan isn't bad really, but any bigger and the term 'thunderblade' takes on a whole new meaning
