This movie was sooo incredible. My friend expected it to be a chick flick...the first half hour or so seemed that way, but wow. I was totally blown away by this flick. Anyone else?

Even the soundtrack was killer.

I went and saw the film with 3 buddies of mine... two of us thought it rocked, the other 2 thought it sucked... I thought it was incredible. Plus the fact that it opened with a Radiohead song made it all the better;)

I thought the movie was a pure pile of steaming doggie turds myself...

I regret paying admission for it...and in the future I'm not sure if I can watch anymore Tom Cruise movies...

Where is Rain man, Days of thunder, and Risky Business???

I liked it...

(spoiler)

I think he was in a coma for the entire movie following the accident (several times through the movie, people kept telling him to "WAKE UP!"), and the entire cryogenics thing was fabricated in his head during the coma. What we don't know is what really happens when he wakes up at the end, since it's *her* voice telling him to "open your eyes".... Interesting movie.

The movie was touching at first, esp. when Diaz wasnt getting all the attention she expected from Tom. But then the whole story about Life Extension was all crap. The ending totally sucks.

I liked this movie a lot better the first time I saw it...when it was called Jacob's Ladder.

Jesus, the love interest was a hispanic female the FIRST time they did this movie, too!

I thought it was a good film, but once I saw "tech support!" I had it all figured out.

Jacob's Ladder is a good movie. I haven't seen Vanilla Sky yet but if it apes Jacob's Ladder in anyway, I think I may just pass on this one.

Penelope Cruz was in the original, also.

I just saw this film tonight, and I really enjoyed it. It flew right by. I have yet to see The Fellowship of the Ring, but I'd have to say I enjoyed Vanilla Sky more than I did Harry Potter. And I love that movie too. Plus, the soundtrack was a great bonus, Radiohead, R.E.M., Spiritualized...

heh just got back from seeing it:) all and all it was a nice mind fcuk movie. i did have a problem with cruz though, its like she was cast just because tom likes her so much now. Its like you dumbass, why are you ignoring diaz.. stupid stupid bastard :p parts where toms narrating or just making a speech always remind me of that "show me the money" movie.. gah! but yea, i might watch it again on dvd so i can see all the clues now that i know the films secret:)

and oh, want that mask.. would be nice and freaky for haloween hehe:)

Go to: Vanilla Sky's website. You'll see where it says, "Open Your Eyes".

The original is Spanish, and it's called "Abra Los Ojos", which translates to...SUPRISE! "Open Your Eyes!!!:D

And for those of you who didn't like the "Life Extension" part...don't take it so literally...think about it. Think about the choice he made.

i can't decide if i liked it or not i think id have to see it another time to get it all and make up my mind

<SPOILER>

Im not sure if he was just waking up from the cryogenic thing.....or if it was from the coma cuz youd think ud have a crap load of time (to dream) over 150 years (i think thats how long they said he was out for)

i thought it might have been better if they just made it that he woke up from a comma from the car accident.....
and if it were my choice i woulda said go with the ignorance is bliss with penelope cruz .....instead of being completely disoriented in a world 150 years ahead of our time........but then that is almost like saying i prefer the matrix over the real world (in relation to that movie) so i dunno
