Anyone experimented with making homemade ice cream with alcohol in it?

I got my wife an ice cream maker attachment for her KitchenAid mixer as a Mother's Day gift. We made a simple batch of vanilla ice cream last weekend and it was excellent. Today we decided to be more ambitious and try this:

I'm using Buffalo Trace for the bourbon since it already has a nice vanilla flavor to it.

Any other good ideas for alcoholic ice cream? I'm already thinking something with fruit and Sailor Jerry would work well.

Lots of different liqueurs, just choose a fruit or flavor - midori for melon, grand marnier for orange, etc.

Also, cognac or brandy. Brandy also comes in a million different flavors. Most are shitty though, come to think of it, but still.

Irish cream!

I have an ice cream maker, never tried alcoholic ice cream, but it would be really easy to do something like a Margarita or daiquiri sherbet.

Post a review on the bourbon ice cream too. I have a recipe for a decent mint julep cookie that could be turned into a cake, I bet that would go great with bourbon ice cream.

I'll do that. We're planning on having it tonight with some Dutch Caramel Apple Pie.

Amy's Ice Cream here in Austin has bourbon ice cream. I think that it just tastes like a better vanilla, but my girlfriend thinks it has a disgusting alcohol taste to it. I honestly didn't taste the alcohol at all.

The ice cream was incredible. Extremely creamy and smooth. Starts out with an intense sweet cream and vanilla taste then finishes with the taste of the Buffalo Trace.

Went great with the Dutch Apple Pie and caramel!
