I have yet to read the release notes, but hopefully it fixed the most obvious issues....

Get it here.

Release notes:

? Fixed C++ Runtime error on launch of the game due to older versions of Python interpreter.
? Fixed Invalid dialog responses due to older versions of Python interpreter.
? Fixed problem where keys and keycards may disappear from player?s inventory.
? Fixed problem where binding either Enter or Right Mouse Button to the Use key would cause the inventory window to immediately close after opening. These bindings are now no longer permitted.
? Added ?Inventory Full ? Items Dropped? message when player receives items beyond the inventory limit and added inspection particles to the dropped items. This addresses the issue with cameras being lost in the ?Model Citizen quest.
? Fixed problem where a player would have both the vampire and warform models stuck together when both Fortitude and Protean (level 5) are activated.
? Fixed crash to desktop when the player returns to the boat after rescuing Johansen from the Society of Leopold.
? Fixed problem where the newspaper would report success in the ?Model Citizen? quest even though the player had failed it.
? Fixed problem where the player can log on to the Theater computer before receiving the ?Tangled Web? quest from Mitnick.
? Fixed problem with haven mailboxes not receiving award for completing the food critic quest. quest.
? Modified E dialog so that it is easier to receive the ?Thinned Blood? quest.
? Modified Regent dialog so that he now recognizes completion of the Gargoyle quest.
? Modified Isaac dialog so that he now recognizes completion of the King?s Way and Gargoyle quests.

I just finished Vampire Masquerade Redemption on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine. The 1.1 version of the game will play on 2000/XP. I am also waiting to see if this patch fixes most of the problems with Bloodlines.

I seem to recal there was a problem with just installing the game itself, of coures, I havent given it much effort lately (this was at least a year ago)

The game does have its major share in glitches and bugs, and the graphics are sorta circa late 2002, early 2003. Also it kind of uses the source engine half-assed.

However, the game is alot of fun, and in the end that is really what matters in a game. It also is more of a roleplaying game than the first one, and uses the whitewolf system alot better too. I would say its worth about 30 bucks and I would give it a B-, unless they release patches to fix the glitches then I would give it a B+.

The 1.0 version will not install without a workaround. I got lucky. My CD was the 1.1 version.

I think Bloodlines is worthy of purchase. Its buggy, but the 1.2 patch just fixed the most serious of issues.

I personally did not notice any major performance boost when outside, the game runs fairly smooth at 1280x1024, high details on my machine. With the exception of some floors of LaCroix's shiny marble building. That causes some serious slow down on my P42.4C and 6800GT.

on my system, the game gets laggy too in the outdoors, but indoors its smooth. I love the game, the most interesting RPG i've ever played, i love story. The only thing that sucks about it is that the combat sucks, cause of the crappy enemy AI, but the game is still alot of fun. Without the game wasnt even playable for me, i always got stuck because of a bug. Teh 1.2 patch makes the game much more playable.

I played this game for 9 hours straight last night. Half Life 2 would only keep me interested for 2 hours at a time. I would say this is GOTY worthy. I hope they use the engine again.

In reply to the comment about half assed using the source engine I dont believe that is true. You must understand that they worked with a version of source available long before completion. The game has physics, interactable objects, and most importantly for an rpg - facial expressions.

Honestly graphics arent everything - it is all about gameplay. I would say that Doom's graphics trump HL2 and that HL2 graphics trump VM:B but as far as gameplay I would juxtapose VM:B and Doom.
