Worth a shot. Only takes a minute or two to fill out the survey.

Survey: http://www.valvesoftware.com/gamersurvey.php?action=survey

Source: http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/09/valve-software-hardware-playtest/

In what is assuredly the inauspicious beginnings of an alternate reality Aperture Science, Valve Software is asking interested parties to take a brief survey which may result in being the first people outside of the company to get hands-on time with Valve's hardware prototypes. Additionally, participants will get a chance to playtest "both released and unreleased versions of our games." Putting the two together, it sounds an awful lot like you'll be trying existing Valve games with new means of input. For now, Valve's only seeking folks in the Seattle/Bellevue, Washington region of the US, but that may expand remotely "in the future." Perhaps in an upcoming hardware beta? We can't be sure! It's unclear when the survey sign-up period will end, but we've asked Valve for more info. Let's just say we'd suggest not putting it off. Click here to take the survey.

The worst part has to be their very detailed numbers. I have no idea how many PC games I own... that's why most things use ranges! :$

No kidding. How many times have I used steam to buy a game? I have no clue... is "cubic crap load" an answer? I have 167 games on steam, but I didn't buy them all there and many were bought in packs.

They are only accepting Seattle-area testers. (see the Engadget link in OP)

Link says:

Not sure if that's meant to say sign up anyway because the testing may expand to other areas...

Meh, I completed the survey anyway. I have nothing else to do at the moment.

I like how they ask for extremely specific numbers on how many games I have. How many games have I purchased on Steam? I have ~480 games in my library, but some of that is DLC or games that I redeemed with codes from other sites, so I just put 400. How many games do I buy per year? I just took the number of games I owned and divided it by the number of years I've used Steam... maybe ~90 games per year. Can't be bothered to be anymore detailed than that.

It even asks how many Gameboy games I own. 10 maybe? Those are all tucked away in a drawer somewhere. :p

You better pull them out and photograph them for part 2 if you're chosen. ;)

Won't accept my post code. Obviously they're not wanting people from the UK yet :p
