I've got a 512 stick of OCZ plat. 2-3-2-6 PC3200
i was wondering if i stuck this in my asus k8vse if i could stick some 'value' ram next to it in the other slots and have the good one OCed and the ok ones not OCed....

and i'd like some more ram advice

Negative. Your faster ram will run at the speed of the slower ram. They both gotta run at the same speed.

If you overclock one, you overclock them both. I would recommend running an equivalent module with the same speed and characteristics. The price of a more comparible module is still cheaper then the headaches you will get trying to get the value ram to work.

When you set timings they apply to all the RAM you are using. The lowest timings you can set are those that your slowest RAM can handle.
