I'm selling this system to a friend... how much should i charge him?

Duron 700 @ 933 w/ 1.85 voltage $50
ECS K7S5A w/overclocker bios $75
AIW Radeon 32 MB agp $175
256 MB PC133 Crucial $30
20 GB IBM 7200 RPM $100
Floppy $free
12x Generic DVD $30
6x4x20 Ricoh Burner $40
Enlight Mid Tower lightly modded $20
Enermax 350 FC ps $40

That comes to $560 Canadian... so probably i'll give it to him for $500 Canadian ($350 US)... what do you think?

I am unable to comment on the price, however I know this.

By selling it to a friend, you will be responsible for providing high-quality free technical support. You will also have to tell him which drivers to install when he installs a new OS in the future, how to configure the system, and so forth. I hate selling computers to friends because you naturally have to support them 🙂

And if something breaks, who do you think will be RMA'ing the thing and installing a new one when it comes in? 🙂

The point is, you should charge a little more to cover your back in case of any future failures and support inquiries.

Vboy's right on the money. I have become "the goto guy" when my friends and coworkers need their equipment checked.
