Uhh yeah... everyone should have an i7 ... to browse Facebook....
At the very least an i5, yes, i believe so.

Skylake Celeron is considered to be a dramatic redesign from Haswell, since memory RAM frequency speed shot up to 2133 MHz with DDR4 in G3900/G3920 vs. only 1333 MHz with DDR3 in G1840/G1850. That's not even 1600 MHz found in Pentium G3420 and higher.
Personally for me, I would wait for Skylake Celeron G3900 (including me), since it's only $5 more than Haswell, assuming.
Whatever that hybrid deal is, Skylake seems to be a lot faster at it than Haswell.![]()
G4400 is priced very well at $60, since it's rated 500 MHz faster than G3900, and can be noticeable a little in speed. It's the same price with G3260 right now. Intel was kind enough not to launch G4400's speed at 3.1 GHz.I can see it being more beneficial to buy a G4400 now,$25 or so more expensive isn't wallet breaking but while your waiting for this G3900 i am sure most could have come up with a additional $25.
Well sure the GPU built-in is faster. The majority of those results that are significantly different between the chips is due to that.

The idea is to be fast enough not to feel like a complete dog in 5+ years
Wouldn't that be more of a reason to go Intel?

In 5yrs you can buy another Celeron for $50 or less that will likely be as fast as an i5 from 5yrs previous. Porn boxes don't need much.
Yep, that's one of the things I like about Gigabyte. There's always some rebates going on. Asus, blah... However, I would take an ECS board instead if it drops down to $25 after rebate.Yeah, I saw that board. Not bad at all. Not to mention, DDR4 reaching price parity with DDR3... almost. I saw some 8GB DDR4 DIMMs for $31 the other day.
Now all we need are the Celerons for $42.
