Value of film equipment

Kind of funny noticing how much people are still asking for their old film cameras on craigslist. Yes, some of the rare stuff can still fetch a good amount in mint condition to collectors but sorry, your run of the mill SLR isn't worth $200-300. Even saw someone post one of those $20 P&S that came in those blister packs asking for $10. lol

Depends on your definition of run of the mill.

Nikon F90 and better are still in about that price range, for example.

I do still shoot some film. I don't mind paying $100 - $200 for a 35mm that's been CLA'd with all new light seals. I'm looking at a Yashica Electro 35 GSN for around $100 right now. Nothing super great about the camera, but it is a neat range finder with a really sharp lens. They're tons on the market from $10 and up, but I don't mind paying more for one that's ready to shoot and will be good for another quarter century.
