I was just looking at PartitionInfo from PartitionMagic 5 and I see I have some errors.

My D:, E:, and F: partitions all have some error under ECyl. The values are off, sometimes by up to 2000.

Then on my c: partition it says:
"Info: Begin C,H,S values were large drive placeholders.
Info: End C,H,S values were large drive placeholders.
Actual values are:
0 1 00 383 0 1 0F 3327 254 63 6152895 47311425"

Not sure what all that crap means.

When I run Norton Disk Doctor it says there is an error in an invalid extended partition and it gives me the option to fix it.

Everything has been like this but working for over a year until several weeks ago my F: just crapped out and then when I ran Disk Doctor to fix it, it deleted the partition. So I recreated it but it still wants to fix. I just click skip so it won't delete my partition.

Now what's wrong and is there anyway I can fix it? It seems like maybe when I created the partition, it rounded the numbers off and now some of the sectors are slightly off.

I bet you have a HD over 8.4GB that's when it gives the placeholder info that seems like an error but according to Powerquest tech support is normal.

Disk Doctor is known for trying to "fix" stuff that ain't broke. I was getting an error on my FAT32 extended partitions and just tell it not to mess with them.

If you have a real problem though you should try to delete the whole extended partition and recreate it.

If you've never called Powerquest for your version you can call and email your partinfo.txt for them to examine.
