Value card recommendations

I'm a bit out of date in the video card world.

My gf's system is running an Athlon XP 1800+ /w a GeForce MX440 card. For the most part, it's fine.

However, in some newer games like Sims 2 (we're not talking FPS stuff here), it bogs a bit.

The GeForce 6200 cards seem to have hit the just over $100 range. That's a fine price range, so I'm curious as to opinions.

It's hard to find any head-to-head MX440 vs. modern card reviews, so any info would be useful.

Are 6200 cards even available in AGP?

For that system, I'd do some digging and try to find a gf ti series. You won't get dx9, but at that price its hard to find a decent performing dx9 card it seems. The gf440's main drawback is that it is only dx7.

the 9600 pro is decent DX9, just make sure you get a 128MB 128 bit version.
