Slanket, interesting idea.
I actually found this thing in one of the computer magazines in their Christmas gifts section. You can wear it with the opening at the front (easy removal for those fridge runs) or with the opening at the back (like on the website) for complete isolation. Either way it's 100" long and 60 " wide. If ya can't wrap-up in this thing because of your size, you need to call "Omar the Tent Maker" for a bigger size. It's also spawned a new word. If you're "Slanked" or going to get "Slankatized" , you are, or are aiming to, put that thing on and do a little nodding. I'm telling ya, the things got a switch somewhere in the derrière section.

Girls don't want electronics.

Some girls do, but not many of them care for it.
Of course if it is valuable or expensive, they will appreciate it, but most girls like something that had a lot of thought into it.

My suggestion, plan on taking the day totally off on Wednesday (no school, no work), surprise her. Then take her around town. Picnic in the park (prepare everything ahead of time)..., then dinner at a nice restaurant, then do the theatre or go dancing. After all of that surprise her with some jewelry. (clique but it is thoughtful and required a lot of sacrifice and effort on your part <which will automatically make her love it> )

If this isn't possible, make it a couple of day thing. Start to have someone deliver something to where she works or where she live (unless she lives with you), everyday. First day, do a single rose and a sweet note. Second day, a dozen roses and a note saying a thousand more for you (something cheesey, but you better mean it 😉 ). Third day, something thoughtful like flowers and then something that she has some quirky meaning behind it (it can be anything as long as your note explains the significance). On Valentines, show up all decked out in nice threads, and give her jewelry or a night on the town.

First off, if you get this stuff delivered to work, she will be the envy of all her coworkers (which sadly enough but it is reality, girls get a kick out of). Secondly, she will be surprised by all the thought put into it. Thirdly, she will love that each day get progressively sweeter. And lastly, she will love the fact that you show up at the end with something nice.

BTW, the last one may take some $$.

Guys don't want a couples massage at a spa.

They're even.

'Tis true. 😉 But Valentine's is mainly a commercial holiday that is meaningless, but totally for the girl's sake. So good luck with trying to reason with a girl on Valentine's Day. 😛

So did you guys pull the trigger on the slanket? I'm still debating on getting my wife one.

They're out of stock until tomorrow. I think I'm gonna order one then. I think the woman will like it, plus she'll look goofy as hell in it 🙂

I don't know about that, I'd love a professional massage.

One of my sister's best friends is a professional message therapist. She's done my back several times. I swear that woman's fingers are magic. If my gf did the couples message thing I'd sure go.

right on....

i like slikmunks idea of the weekend trip. I think that is the best bet. Services (not things) are always appricated.
what price range are you looking here?

Maybe $300 at most. Last year, for V-Day, I booked us a weekend at a secluded log cabin in Western MD. I would do that again, but we just went two weekends ago.

wow... you are good. 🙂
how about a VERY romantic weekend or even one night at the best hotel (class wise) you can find/afford? go all out... have champane and chocolate strawberries and candles waiting fo your, eat dinner in the room, have good bath products there... enjoy!

Alright, it's either a night out at a nice hotel, just to get away...or the slanket.

I agree with Lola, go somewhere for a night or weekend. Memories are way better than objects. I'd love a weekend trip somewhere.

DUDE!!!! Take her to Mammoth man!!!!

You guys can ride all day, then have a nice dinner at Perry's or something. Then spend the evening in a spa or sauna at some cozy Inn.

Then ride all day again and head home!!!!

I second the "go do something" idea. Beats buying stuff any day.

Are there any local wineries in your area? Most states have at least a few. Take her wine tasting. Find a few wine shops if there aren't wineries and find out when/if they do tastings.

The only women to post in this thread agree on what to do for Valentine's day. We're all married, too. 🙂
