Vaccination cards: Do they accept a photocopy?

I think it goes both ways too. The business should probably just pick their battles and not escalate/start a scene if someone is non compliant. Ask them at least once to produce it and ask them to leave at least once and make sure this is on camera so there is proof that they tried. But after that just let them in if they try to pick a fight. I guess the issue is the businesses can lose their license if they do let someone in... it's already happened to quite a few restaurants, they end up losing their alcohol license at first and if there's more incidents they lose their entire business. But hopefully if they show proof that they tried maybe they would be in the clear? Not sure.

There was an incident a few months back involving someone taking off their mask on a plane. Police escorted the person out of the plane upon landing and even Transport Canada got involved and it took a few months to make a report and everything. Basically treating it like an air crash investigation lmao. Some of this stuff is going way too far.

WTF are you on about? The businesses that got shut down by health aithority was because they were refusing to implement covid restrictions period.

Causing a scene is simply being an asshole. If you don't like the rules the business has in place just walk away.
Some of the material suppliers I deal with simply don't care. They have all the rules posted, and they're universally ignored by their customers and employees.

The local WalMart has "receipt checkers" at each entrance. When they ask,"do you have a receipt?" I always tell them "Yes I do." and keep walking. If they ask "Can I see your receipt?" I tell them, "No."
They have the right to ask...and I have the right to refuse.
I ALWAYS show my receipt at Costco...doing so is something I agreed to when I joined. Walmart (or any other public store) can fuck the fuck off.

Proof of vaccination to enter businesses hasn't been mandated here...yet. IF that happens, I'll comply. If not...and a business requires said proof...I'll either comply or take my business elsewhere...depending on how bad I need whatever they're selling.

I haven't carried mine with me as so far no one has asked for it. If i do need it at some point hopefully a copy works as that's what i plan on doing as i doesn't fit in my wallet & i don't really want to leave it in my car. We'll see how i goes.

I have a picture on my phone. if people don't like it, its their loss. i'm not going to cause a scene. I actually have both doses on separate cards cuz they were just jabbing and throwing cards at you that were all filled out when I got mine.

wait.... so we are advocating that government should require you to show ID and Vacc card to go to a grocery store but not to vote right? making sure i have the talking points right.

i'm not in favor of either thing. I just want to point out that having to show ID to buy food and not to vote it pretty hypocritical.

unpopular opinion:
also, at some point, this is just what we live with and all the bullshit needs to stop, and we get on with our lives, and those that are not vaccinated are just living with a higher risk of dying, and the overall mortality risk per year is a bit higher for everyone. We keep acting like we can stop nature from killing us off, buts its just a big joke. you want to solve climate change? only real way is reduce population. we keep not letting it happen and natures solution to it will keep getting worse. covid is just a warning shot from the planet. next one will be worse.

Who's to say they would not still get shut down for non compliance if they let people slip through, but maybe if they have proof that they tried then maybe they wouldn't? That's what Im "on about". My point is they need to not make a huge scene... but maybe they have no choice because they risk being shut down. I don't really know how strict the government is at enforcing it.

NYC accepts photos of the vaccination card on your phone, and also a real ID. You don't need the actual vax card.

Been to restaurants, bars and movie theaters and they were all the same. And they all checked.

Scanned copy on your phone or wallet should be fine for businesses that require it. Think from business owners perspective. They really don't want to turn away potential business if they don't absolutely have to. They're going to accept that copy because they want your business.

I have scanned copy on my iPhone Notes app. I scanned it in case I lose the original when I travel. When I was Korea recently, businesses there wouldn't accept or acknowledge US vaccine card. So it's really kind of pointless other than for filling out official government paperwork to enter the country. And government documents accept photocopies.

I've yet to actually be asked to show proof of vaccine but I don't carry my original. Only a picture in a dedicated folder on my phone along with pics of my "Real-ID" drivers license and a backup credit card.

Further because I get my vaccines at CVS I can pull up all the relevant proof in their Android app or on the website. (both of which are actually pretty good)

No, it's not unpopular opinion. Most countries will switch to "live with covid" approach next year. They will open back up fully for vaccinated. South Korea will switch to this approach in 2022. People are not going to put up with 3 years of lockdowns and governments all know it. They're all planning for "live with covid."

The bullshit is people just not getting vaccinated or else we would not even have any of these mandates in place anymore really. The point of doing what they are doing is to get enough people vaccinated, and then restrictions will be lifted, and hospitals can deal with whatever comes their way like with the flu. Then it will be normalized.

as far as Covid being a warning shot about overpopulation, what was the Black Plague in the 1300's? We weren't industrialized so really not destroying the earth like we are now, and the population was around 392 million total (estimated), so really, no, Covid is not a warning shot about overpopulation and global warming, that's just nonsense.

Who's to say the moon won't fall on your head tomorrow? Stop worrying about unlikely fantastic scenarios and stick to facts. Show me an example of a business being shut down because they qere trying their best to follow public health guidelines.

I just came home picking up takeout from a restaurant and they were checking covid proof like they are supposed to and the people let them check. The nerves 🙄

You're acting like covid infections occur in a vacuum that affects no-one but the infected. Maybe once you or one of your loved ones can't get hospital treatment for anything, then you'll reconsider what "the bullshit" really is?

The UK government is acting like "I don't want to play the covid game anymore" and despite reasonably high vaccination rates, infection rates and hospitalisations are going sky-high.

in Ontario, not checking and allowing someone to dine-in without proof of vaccination is illegal. The fines start at $1000 and go up for the restaurant in violation.

I ask for vaccine status at work. If you don't have it, you don't get to stay. Take-out is exempt, obviously.

Refusing to leave after being denied is also an offense (trespassing). Thankfully, there are very few covidiots here in London as confrontations are rare.

The vaccination card I got when I got my first Moderna shot now has 3 entries, having been Moderna boosted 2 days ago. It's just a thin piece of cardboard. I've been photocopying it using my scanner and desktop publishing software and aligning the front/back images in the software and printing two-sided (duplexed) on my B&W laser printer. Then I affixed thin plastic tape (the kind used for packaging that comes in 60 foot rolls) to both sides and trimmed. In the process of generating my document I shrunk the images a little to make the card small enough to fit in my wallet (the original card is a little too big), not a noticeable shrinking, just enough.

I haven't been asked to see my card yet (finally had my temperature checked with a scope at a dentist 2 days ago). Will venues, restaurants, airlines, etc. accept my DIY-laminated photocopy (it was scanned in gray scale, is obviously a copy but is quite readable, B&W scan came out crappy)?
we have a downloadable qr-code PDF document from our Provincial government that people can use on their smart phone. If that is not possible you can simply print it out and show that.

NYC's vax rate 86% for one dose for adults. Obviously they aren't doing the mandates because they think the vax rate is low.

NYC does not exist in a vacuum. It probably has the most mass transit in the country that terminates in the city, for example, plus a ton of vehicles and planes, bringing lots of people in. I would think when the region as a whole hits the numbers they'll lift restrictions. But for now, to use many of the amenities of the city, you need to be vaccinated.

The only times I have had to show mine, was for my 2nd and 3rd dose.

The wife showed hers when she went in for knee replacement surgery. Unsure if a copy, image on phone would have been acceptable, I suspect so.

Other than that... go take a long walk on a short pier.

I do have an image of both our cards in a secure folder on my phone.

That's kind of what I figured. Probably why they make a big scene then if people are non compliant. They don't want to risk their business.

There's a few places here that just chose to stop doing dine in altogether just to avoid it. Not sure what will happen once they impose it on take-out too, but I'm starting to think that might not happen, the government is even talking of scrapping this whole thing by next year. Probably helps that there's an election coming. 😛 Dougie needs to try to look like the good guy now.
