Vacation - Where are you going?

Leaving in 3 weeks for 6 days in England, 6 in Scotland, a day in N Ireland and a day in Dublin.

We have 3k for food, entrance fees, gas, souvenirs and incidentals but will likely spend less. Airfare and hotels are already paid for (<$600 total for two people 😀 )

We may also do a mini-vacation in Traverse City for a couple hundred

May go to Longboat Key for about $1,250. Cashing in 75,000 airline miles keeps the cost low. Still undecided.

I'm saving this year's vacation for a week or 2 off at home with the wife, our daughter and our newborn baby boy (once he arrives).

I will be spending money on diapers and baby wipes, hopefully not exceeding $300 initally.

My parents were transferred to London in January, so me and the GF are doing the Europe tour this summer for 2.5 weeks. We just settled on some of the travel arrangements:

4 days in London
2 nights in Paris
3 nights in Munich
3 nights in Prague
Back for 4 nights in London.

Plane tickets to London $1400/ea...intra-Europe travel cost us $550/ea (train to Paris, fly to Munich, train to Prague, fly back to London). Haven't booked hotels yet. It's gonna suck ($) and it's gonna hurt, but it shall be fun. At least the London stay is free!

Just got back from a week long skydiving vacation.

First stop was last weekend at Skydive New Market. Got 13 jumps in, paid about $350.
Second stop was Carolinafest at Skydive Carolina in SC. Got there on Monday, got home yesterday night. $300 to get there and spend the week in an RV, $1,000 in jump tickets, $200 in misc. costs, and another $2400 of tunnel time that I bought.

Total cost was about $4250.

vegas next month for 5 days. plan on having at least $3k in spending cash there possibly more.

possibly a weekend trip to the beach in august, which will be under $1k for everything.

probably the florida keys in september for our 5yr anniversary. plan to probably bring like $3k to spend there too although there probably won't be as much stuff there to spend money on as in vegas.

then next feb/march i'm trying to organize a trip to turks and caicos to rent a big villa with friends. that will probably be like $1k - $1500 per couple for the villa, then flight is like $500 each, so like $2500 just to get there and stay there. probably bring like $3k spending or so.

Either Hawaii or London. Hawaii will be way more expensive but way more fun.

Hawaii 3-4k. If London then 2k.

How are you doing either for that cheap? Flights from east coast are $1400 for London and $1100 for Hawaii. Hotels are $250-$300 a night for something decent.

Might do a road trip the end of the year with the wife. We're planning on driving on the scenic west coast from LA to Portland. Not sure how much it will cost us yet.

Just got back from Maui. Cost about $5000 for my wife and I, but I had free plane tickets from flyer miles.

Will probably go down to Miami/Keys in the fall to do some diving. Will probably stay with friends on that one to save money. Maybe budget $1000.

We are doing 4 Camping trips this year. So mostly Nature/Wild life/Fishing/Hiking and outdoors. Couple of day trips in there as well but basically anything that involves being away from "Vacation hotspots/typical tourist traps"

I would say about $1500 in total for the year.

Went to Italy already.

Going to San Fran next week - wife and kids haven't been. Going to stay near Union Square and do all the turrist stuff.

Connections. 😉

I forgot about Outer Banks, NC. Go there every year at the end of summer. 9 bedroom house ~300 feet from the beach with 13 friends and/or family. Total cost for an entire week - housing, food, everything - is $160 per person. I have yet to find another vacation that is even remotely close to that in affordability.

i think maui is the greatest place i've been on this earth. absolutely loved it out there.

A lot of these posts are triggering my BS meter.

there really aren't any posts in this thread that seem "too good to be true" type of deals so i'm not really sure what you even mean.

Went to Mazatlan in April, about to leave for Anchorage on Wednesday..bringing about $600 or so spending $ but really doubt I'll use anywhere near that- staying w/ a friend, and will be camping part of the trip so really just food/bar money.
