I have two weeks of vacation this year and I want to take a vacation. Any ideas?

I'm considering a nice backpack through europe for two weeks. Or maybe just a week in mexico at a resort or something and the other week a staycation. I really don't know. Budget is around 2k. Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention... I'm 23, and would likely be taking this vacation alone. So a place where I can meet people to hang out with would be cool. I'm also down with physical activities... hiking climbing etc.
 
Costa Rica is cheap and fun, though if you don't surf, you may not like it as much as I do. There are lots of hippie outdoor stuff to do there though.
 
there's a drug war in Mexico right now...you don't want to go there...

go to japan (wave the hangloose hand gesture in japan and see what you get from the ladies =) ). it's very cheap now...plus thailand is cheap.

I wonder if they have cruises where the majority of the passengers are single? Might be worth a look necine. 🙂

Not in Cancun or Acapulco, if you plan on visiting the shitty border town then yes, but normally tourists don't need to worry about the drug war.
