VAC Banning system

bladder23

Banned
If I get banned from one VAC game, will it get me banned from all the games in my account?

All games are in the same account.

Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

You won't be able to play on secure (vac protected) servers in multiplayer games. You can still launch all your games, and you can join non-VAC servers, which is about 5% of the servers.

I don't know how VAC works, but you may also be able to buy the game again and be able to play on protected servers. consider it just punishment for hacking, and you'll be able to have a fresh start 😉

I actually quite playing counterstrike yesterday because some sh!thead hacker ruined the game. :| I wish VAC could magically set a hacker's house on fire or something.

It's just one hacker. Move onto another pub server, maybe one that's well admined? Or if you got his Steam ID, you could've alerted VAC and they could've had him banned.

Just "buy" a new copy of the game and your fine. You don't really say here whether you were banned for actually cheating or if VAC messed up, but if it was a mistake on VAC part your pretty much totally screwed as nobody will believe you and VALVE will just laugh in your face if you tell them VAC isn't perfect.

Actually... on my old Steam account [which i lent out to three friends... bad plan 🙁] i got banned when one of my friends hacked in CS:S, but i can still play CS 1.6 on VAC servers fine. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to work, and im almost 90% sure it's not, but it may be that you only get banned for certain games?

Where have I head THAT story before?

Let me guess you lent them the account because you were too busy helping the blind paraplegics down at the scurvy center....

Kinda a funny thing... For a while, people running Steam through Wine in linux got VAC banned... there was a massive un-banning on Valve's part.

AFAIK VAC does not acknowledge any personal reports of someone cheating.

The problem with that is that alot of parents and landlords would lose their homes and apartments in this manner. Better to just have their PCs meltdown. Its more hacker target specific in my thinking. But I can certainly understand your anger and meaning. Also, the thought of having the hacker taken out behind a building and beaten thoroughly is appealing to me.

LOL...are you sure it wasn't your brother?

I believe its banned by the engine, so HL era games will likely all be banned whereas new games shouldn't be.
