They had something in their eye...

They saw how Wisconsin worked and decided to be fleabaggers too.

If you have an issue with the guy, just vote "no" and you can say why you voted "no" if you want to. If you don't, then vote yes. Walking out is a cop-out IMO. That said, given the state of the media, voting "no" -- even if for legitimate reasons -- would result in getting crushed by the media, so maybe from that perspective, walking it is the best way to go.

VA senators are paid a salary of $18,000... I think even that is too much to shirk your responsibilities.

Walking out isn't doing them any favors, either, though.

... and that's not what's happening with these dipshits in VA.

I didn't say that it was. His point was that walking out doesn't have to cost you anything politically. That could be true, but having the media in your pocket helps a ton.

Like I said, I think not voting is a cop out, but I can see why they'd do it.

I seem to recall Democrats gain seats in Wisconsin after they stage a multi-week walkout.

Consider the following:

1. This isn't about Wisconsin
2. It is not about the issue in which Democrats in WI walked out
3. The media portrayed the Democrats in WI in a positive light
4. The media is not portraying these Republicans in VA in a positive light
5. A vote on a judge is considerably different than what was being proposed in WI

So, your comment is quite irrelevant.

I can't. Did they honestly think walking out wouldn't cost them any more than voting "no"? If so, they're more stupid than I thought possible.

Yes, they might have thought that, and we still don't know if they are correct or incorrect. The people upset about them walking out would be equally upset about them voting "no", so I'm not sure it mattered a whole lot.

These threads you're starting, OP, always seem to have some overplayed and overemphasied anti-gay overtone to them and are getting dangerously close to trollish and bigoted behavior... just my opinion, though, and your use of buzzwords like "gay Judge", "anti-gay" are clear indicators and are attention-whorish phrases.

I didn't read the Anti-gay youtube thread that you started based on that thread title and, as far as I remember, got zero replies anyway.

Just sayin'...

Sounds like the problem is with media bias then, not with the Republicans walking out.

And for (5). You are right. The difference is that the Republicans didn't shut down the whole state government as part of their temper tantrum.

Actually, no. The problem is with elected representatives not doing their job.. in WI and here in VA.

The difference is that the Republicans didn't shut down the whole state government as part of their temper tantrum.

They still shirked their responsibilities. Do you think they were right to walk out?
