"IT DOES NOT WORK"

I have posted over a month ago how perfectly the HSR worked on Soldier of Fortune FLAWLESS! Now I reported that it works flawlessly on HSR 4! Slow down is apparent though in high fog or particle areas when using 1280x960, otherwise 2xfsaa and 1280x760 would be quite playable!

IBMer, the wickedGL really improves MDK2 that much?

how the heck do you install it these days, i.e. do you have to copy files into a directory or something?

Actually it doesn't work with Soldier of Fortune or MDK2. I belive right now, I have only gotten it to work for Q3 or maybe a Q3 based game.

As for the WickedGL part and MDK2.

There is an option to install an OpenGL driver into the Windows System directory.

There is also a control pannel for WickedGL that lets you choose the settings and what to use. You can choose to have all the textures compressed except the Alpha effects.

This works in Half-Life ass well.

No, it works with every single GL game. The question is how to make it work, i.e. make the correct *.bat file. As you can see the *.bat files not the same for both Q3 and SoF, there are some things that are different. HSR will work with D3D games as well, when the drivers are final.

fellas, let's keep control here.

these are BETA drivers with BETA problems. I'd like to think that 3dfx can "fix" these, but they still may not be "totally legitimate"

if 3dfx can manage WHQL-certification with thse, i'll be surprised and impressed, as that means the drivers ARE NOT dropping frames.

As it stands, you have to enable vsync or cap your fps at a ridiculously low level to maintain visual quality. Vsync enabled is just fine, but there are too many issues right now iwth these drivers to get a definite impression.
