I guess that Juliet died on Lost. Haven't watched season 5 yet, but heading up a different show leads me to believe she must be a goner.

Why are the major networks trying to revamp old TV shows? Didn't the last round all get canceled this past year? Bionic woman? Knightrider? Don't they get the clue?

Well, don't forget Battlestar Galactica. If you're going to remake a show, at least do it right like they did instead of going cheap and hoping nostalgia saves you. Knight Rider was just dreadful from the word go.

If done right, V could do well.

It would be pretty cool if Michael Ironsides made an appearance.

I remember in the originals there was a sand-shark in one of the episodes, and a type of Prison camp .... that's about the sum total of what I can remember :p

Loved the original mini-series (have it on dvd) so I'll give this a chance. Noticed the visitors don't have that symbol on their unis, no sunglasses and no vocoder type of effect when they talked. Would have been neat if that kept that but I guess thats nostagia talking.

No way. The 4 way love thing going on Lost is OBVIOUSLY a major storyline. She wont be dead for the final 16 episodes.

I thought they were making fun of what happens when you embrace a message of change. Oh wait, this isn't FOX. :p

So is this the tv sitcom of independence day?

No like others have said it's a remake of a mini-series from the 80's.

Shame they won't have Freddy Krueger this time. :(

From this trailer it looks like this series could go either way. It has potential, but it also has the potential to be an epic failure. I guess that's kind of a wishy-washy statement, but that's my immediate impression.

That was my thought as well. Except that ID4 did those scenes so much better.

I was thinking the same thing. Didn't people learn not to stand around underneath large, hovering, quiet alien space ships from that movie?

Edit:
Also reminds me of that Stargate SG-1 episode where they were given cures for diseases as a ploy to make Humanity sterile and essentially clear the planet for conquest after a generation.

And a little "First Wave" thrown in there...

Which I think, especially as a remake of an older series, is pretty natural. Especially anything to do with aliens - it's a hard sell to make it appear as an "omg this will be the best tv show ever!". At least making it appear like it could be either good or terrible is a strong start imho, because at that rate, it's not looking to only go south immediately. :)

Here's to hoping its an entertaining show. And dammit, Morena has short hair - just doesn't look nearly as attractive as she did in Firefly, but then again... she seems to retain the same extremely seductive tone. damn her.

Never even heard of the original series, and that is good for me, as that means I have absolutely no bias against a remake to start with, and no previous knowledge to praise or bash the show for any direction they end up going.
