V-Sync Disabling?

Hi all
I have a rear projection TV with VGA inputs, likewise I have my PC connected to it, the refresh rate is 60hz, can I damage the monitor if I disable V-Sync? I have games that just don't run smooth unless I disable it. Hehe, this is probably a dumb question but I am clueless!!
Thx

No, the worst disabling vsync can do is cause image tearing. But I never notice it unless I'm standing still in a room with flickering lights.
