weird... when in the movie is that (like story line wise not time.)

Says it in the OP.
Mr Finch (sp?) is describing how he could "see everything laid out before him," that he could see everything that was going to happen - after he visited Larkhill.

Hated the movie. Poorly acted, poor cinematography, poor story. 2 hours of fail.

yup, it was annoying, and didn't work on any level. portman is so annoying you just wish she'd just die. mr v and his speech gimmick wear thin very quickly. it sucked hard.

this was awesome!

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

I know. I loved it. :D
However, if it would have lasted for more than it did, I probably would not have cared for the movie at all.
Moderation in all things.

Horrible action scenes (way too much camera cutting, obscured angles, and pointless film speeds), cliched plot devices, overly obvious political analogies, poor pacing, ridiculously self-impressed mood, etc.

So I'm going to have to disagree with the OP.

On the other hand Children of Men, another dystopian film last year, WAS surprisingly good.

I was with you until you hit Children of Men. That I would have to say was particularly pointless. Children are precious, but that movie didn't have any other point and that point wasn't made very well anyway. All I remember was corny CGI images of smokestacks and green water and the main guy walking around muttering *F#** constantly.
