ATOT meet me at city hall on the 5th of November and I will show you FREEDOM!

Seriously, I really enjoyed the movie. Any input from those who saw the movie at theaters and those who waited for the DVD release?

I saw it twice in the theater, thought it was good, nothing special.

Then I rented the DVD today and watched it again, and damn, I think it's a great movie. Good acting (I <3 Natalie Portman), and I like the camera work. I know the Wachowskis didn't direct it but it still reminded me of the Matrix, especially the first one.

Definitely gonna buy it once I get some money.

I saw it at The Uptown in DC with jakedeez (a fellow ATOTer).

It was pretty awesome, but we both thought it was funny that this is supposed to be like 20 years in the future and they were using crappy 19" Dell LCDs.

Awesome movie...Deep, sentimental storyline and yes, it does have that wachowski feeling that Matrix had also... Its... very philosophic (sp?)

really? i think the way their society ran and operated with the chancellor in control reminded me a lot of 'equilibrium', which is amusing to me in that there were parallels in 'equilibrium' that resemble that of 'the matrix'.

No I was referring to the camera work. The horizontal tracks especially, along with the use of music as the camera is tilting up to introduce a character. I dunno it just reminded me of the Matrix, but maybe just because I knew the Wachowskis were involved in both and so I was looking for something similar between the two movies.

Just watched it the other day for the first time. Good movie with interesting storyline, and there aren't many movies worth watching lately.

ARGGGGGGGGGGG I ACCIDENTALLY RENTED the full screen version....
i'll go back to hollywood tomorrow and try to get it replaced...

Awesome movie. Would've been better if the movie takes place in the US rather than UK though.

a lot of scenes, acts against "special interests", fear mongering, chancellor's persona and his choice of words would reflect bush and his administration. even the idea behind the supposedly terrorist attack is what we call 9/11 consipiracy theory. as subtle or obvious some might claim, you can't deny the fact that a hollywood movie is still hollywood, blockbuster in essence. one would certainly expect a political outcry against the movie if it were to portray US as a dystopian. nevertheless, according to the movie, US at that time is no longer united and involved in civil war.
