HTF is it OK that he goes around killing and destroying the evil government in an act of revenge against them for destroying and killing?

How is his method more justified than theirs, at that point he's just doing the same shyte he's fighting against just on a smaller scale of killing, just stinks of idealistic B.S. IMO.

But it was still an entertaining movie as far as action scenes and well acted also.

Who ever said V was right and just in his actions? Or that he was the ideal hero and his actions were all "OK"?

That's one of the good things about the character - he is not one-dimensional. He's no Superman or Captain America - a man who is always right and does no wrong. He's a real person, with real flaws, not the least of them is the often-frowned-upon ideal of revenge.

I'll accept that reasoning.

Guess seeing Superman Returns and this afterwards didn't help :p

It was a bit too overtly political for me. I mean it was all up in my face with its criticism of the US government today. But once I suspended my disinterest in being preached to, I quite enjoyed the movie. Hugo Weaving has got a great voice for that kind of dialogue.

And did anyone else notice that the Chancellor was also Olivander from Olivander's Wands in Harry Potter?

The Chancellor is John Hurt. He's been in a bit more recognizable roles than a wand saleman in Harry Potter.

FFS, he was Kane in Aliens and Spaceballs!

Awesome movie. Would've been better if the movie takes place in the US rather than UK though.

a lot of scenes, acts against "special interests", fear mongering, chancellor's persona and his choice of words would reflect bush and his administration. even the idea behind the supposedly terrorist attack is what we call 9/11 consipiracy theory. as subtle or obvious some might claim, you can't deny the fact that a hollywood movie is still hollywood, blockbuster in essence. one would certainly expect a political outcry against the movie if it were to portray US as a dystopian. nevertheless, according to the movie, US at that time is no longer united and involved in civil war.

perhaps, but guy fawkes wasn't american. theres your reason its not filmed in america:p

I really like the movie as a whole. My only issue with it is how poorly the movie tracks the passage of time. I swear Natalie Portman's hair and bruise are the exact same for the whole second half of the movie. That and the lack of seasons.

I know this is trivial stuff, which, for me, means it was a good movie and i am really picking it a part to say anything bad.

So was 'V' justified in his pursuit of revenge? They had it coming. Best movie I've seen in a while.

they should've killed off V and portman in a setup.

have the people overrun the palace, while the leaders escape to a caribbean island.

then follow the leaders as they watch on the TV, see england descend into anarchy and further terrorism as various factions fight for control.
