We’re currently investigating an issue related to the forum theme and styling that is impacting page layout and visual formatting. The problem has been identified, and we are actively working on a resolution. There is no impact to user data or functionality, this is strictly a front-end display issue. I got it from neowin. The exact thread that you marked as well, John.
edit: I have also noticed that I'm running Windows XP version 5.1.2600, but I am also running SP2, so that would mean that I would have to be running a version greater than 6.0.2800 (i.e.: 6.0.2900)
Make sure you remove any program that may be trying to patch uxtheme.dll, like StyleXP or WindowsBlinds. Also make sure you have restarted after it's patched.
BTW, I'm using CodenameOpus right now and it's working fine, so it's not a problem with that style.
Themes tell which display properties to use, such as visual style or wallpaper. Style is one of the properties a theme dictates. Msstyle contains the style. .theme is just a text file (C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes).
I don't know what you're talking about with SP2, but I just installed SP2 and the patcher worked still.
