uxtheme.dll

I've got my uxtheme.dll patched so that I can run different themes on it, but it doesn't accept any of the themes.

I'm trying CodenameOpus, for reference.

Also, when I get most themes, they end in .msstyles and not .theme.
What's the difference?

The only problems I have is when someone submits themes that are not labeled correctly.
And this is easily corrected with re-labeling them.

Otherwise, no problems.

I got it from neowin. The exact thread that you marked as well, John.

edit: I have also noticed that I'm running Windows XP version 5.1.2600, but I am also running SP2, so that would mean that I would have to be running a version greater than 6.0.2800 (i.e.: 6.0.2900)

😕

I used this:

Make sure you remove any program that may be trying to patch uxtheme.dll, like StyleXP or WindowsBlinds. Also make sure you have restarted after it's patched.

BTW, I'm using CodenameOpus right now and it's working fine, so it's not a problem with that style.

Themes tell which display properties to use, such as visual style or wallpaper. Style is one of the properties a theme dictates. Msstyle contains the style. .theme is just a text file (C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes).

I don't know what you're talking about with SP2, but I just installed SP2 and the patcher worked still.

Thanks for the help Thomas, but I just un-installed the patch, and then re-patched, and it seemed to work fine 😕

Anyways, I got CodenameOpus to work as well, but I can't download the Codname Opus Winamp Skin Pack by ~Spacey on dA.
Does anybody here have it?
