I have been interested in this notbook for a long time and I was waiting for that last Christmas deal before I ordered it. I noticed today that they do not have the option for the UXGA display anymore. I called them and they said it will not be offered anymore. I was wondering if anyone had any inside information on whether or not this is true, if so why? Were they haveing problems with it?

I need to start shopping around again now for something around 5-6 lbs. with a UXGA display for under $1800. Does anyone have any suggestions?

1600x1200 on a 14" screen? Get your binoculars ready...

Isn't SXGA+ enough? The reason they don't offer it anymore is probably because of low demand, or maybe people were going blind. :p

Yes but if you want 1600x1200 then that 16.1 inch screen is worth your money. I have one next to me so I know, this isn't just a salesman opinion.

1600x1200 is a very high resolution for smaller screens so either scale down or really think abou the Sony GRX (due to the 16.1 inch screen) or if you cannot bare it for some reason then try the Dell Inspiron 8200.
