I was wondering if these dyes have any affect on the cooling system or if its safer to go with the UV tubes?

Some dyes do have small particles in them, but nothing you really need to worry about. Go for it.

Dyes ruin Storm performance because of its jet impingement design that utilizes pressure over flow. Flow is reduced to increase pressure by making the interior of the storm smaller, and its very easy for dye particles and any other particles to get stuck in it and lower your cooling performance over time.

But thats all assuming you're using the Storm in the first place.

Particle-based UV dye can cause premature wear on your pump, but I don't think it happens fast enough to really make a difference.

The phosphorous particles in UV dye aren't large enough to cause problems with a Storm all by themselves. Phosphorous doesn?t have natural adhesive properties. If, however, you use an unproven mixture, I'd imagine that these particles can become part of an aggregate buildup. Then again, precipitate can happen quite easily without the presence of UV dye.

Well I actually was leaning twords buying the storm or apogee but I planned on buying frozencpu's UV dye which is supposed to be really good quality. So hopefully that will not cause any clogging issues. thanks guys

WTF?

Some people would consider "like a woman" to be sexist.

Some people's asses are glued on too tight, and they should loosen up a bit.
