What is meant by utilities? Heating, electric and water? Are phone and sewage included? What about internet and comcast ( TV )?

I would assume gas/electric/water/sewage. Anything else would be a bonus, and shouldn't be assumed.

I'm guessing cable/phone/internet would count too though I guess it depends on context. If an apartment says it covers utilities, they probably mean hydro, gas, water and sewage. If someone is asking you how much you pay for utilities, you'd probably include phone and stuff too.

Utilities typically only mean electric, water, gas, and trash. Sewage is usually lumped to water. Cable and TV are almost never included unless its a shared resource.

However I've lived multiple places that covered utilities, but defined it in different ways. Eg water and trash was covered since it was a 4 unit building, but electric was individually metered.

Anything you can't live a normal life without - water/sewer, electricity, and gas if it's available. These days, internet should certainly be considered a utility as it's just a part of our lives now.

In what context?

If you're renting and "utilities are included," that USUALLY means the owner pays water, sewer and garbage, but MIGHT include electricity and even gas...but not usually.

Phone, TV/cable, and internet service are (almost) never included.

Funeral home? That's awesome, but I bet it gets annoying when there are wakes and tons of people show up.

I'd love to live next to a graveyard, though.

It's rare for their parking lot to overflow. Just don't get caught trying to get home or leave when they're lining up to go to the cemetery.

I live in a half decent area. Normal housing neighbourhood, so I would definitely like having more land, but there is a field across the street so I guess it gives that sense of having more land, and it's a place I can go fly a drone or go star gaze or whatever.



In summer I'll sometimes go out there late at night to take pictures of stars or northern lights etc.

Downside is that it's a school, so every day at 3pm my street is basically a grid lock, and the carbon monoxide level shoots up for about an hour from all the idling soccer mom SUVs. Do kids not walk anymore these days? But really it's not a huge deal I can deal with that for 1 hour per day. I only notice it on my days off and I'm usually in the house anyway. I just make sure not to plan to leave or arrive around that time.
