Just moved here from Florida...work related.

Live in Holladay, work in SLC.

It's...different here, but I like it. Amazingly enough, drivers here are worse than in FL - at least in FL, the old folks are unintentionally bad...here, they do it on purpose.

Everybody always says the drivers here are bad. I don't understand how they would be any worse than anywhere else.

Regarding the driving, for me, it's the lack of consideration that's intentional...

When they cut you off or pull out in front of you (and you have to slow WAY down)...they know *exactly* what they're doing...same stuff happens in FL, but it's generally by accident and unintentional.

That's what's worse around here...they know they're driving like a jerk and don't care.

You ever been asked that?

I was on a plane going to Florida a couple of years ago. Some lady asked where I was from, I said Utah. Then she asked if I was mormon, and I said I grew up mormon. She then asked, with all seriousness, where my horns were! :Q[/quote]

When my husband and I moved in to a new place in WI our neighbor came and said hello it came up we were Mormon and he was like oh I dated a mormon girl once where are your horns and red shirts. I had heard the horns thing before but never the red shirts. We tried so hard not to laugh.

Why does sorry keep getting posted when someone says they are from Provo?

I just moved here in March it seems fine so far. I admit I am not in the college area or around college people so maybe that makes a difference.

We moved here in Sept to Fillmore UT (small dinky town that it is) due to a snotty tentant refusing to move out of the house we were going to rent anyhow so that my husband could be closer to his family. Then in March we moved here to Provo now in June he left me and I am not sure if I should stay here in Provo or move. My kids are 3, 2, 1 and another due Christmas Eve. Any thoughts on why it would be bad to stay in Provo and where might be better to live?

From the little I have seen in this area ( I am by the Provo Towne Center) Jack Mormon is more appropriate.
As they are all talk and no action. Say one thing at church and of course do something totally opposite during the week.

It irritates me to no end people that come up to you on sundays and say oh I have been thinking about you all week how are you. I think YEAH RIGHT then why didn't you call or stop by not like my whole block doesn't basically make up the ward LOL

People just crack me up no matter where you are. They all want to appear so nice and good and really they could care less most of them.

I'm sorry if my bashing of provo bothered you. I found the town to be excessively closed minded and intolerant when I lived there. There was a huge "holier than thou" attitude. (I was never morman).

Its just not a choice I'd ever make voluntarily (to live there)..much of utah is beautiful but I never found the folks too friendly or tolerant.

I have only been a convert Aug will be 8 years. I just do my own thing and try my best to treat everyone fair and keep an open mind. And remind myself they will be judge as they have judged others and man I don't want to be them on that day. Also society may accept lots of things but the Lord doesn't. In the end it will come back to haunt them.

I believe everyone is loved by God doesn't matter your religion, sexual preference, color, ect. Yes I know this may differ from doctorine. But I personally feel that as long as you believe in something you will make it.

guess in someways I am not truly converted if you would ask some people. But I know my bishops have sure liked the discussions we get into on these areas and they have never said I was damned or going to be condemed for my thoughts.

Well I'm LDS and as I posted earlier, I'm from New Mexico. I've been to Provo and Orem to visit family and I found that the LDS members in that area are snotty and rude. However, I would like to say not all LDS are like that. Take me for instance. I'm a really nice guy. :)
