UT2k4 players thread

It's not difficult to pick out a botter if they're blatantly using autoshoot + aim which is what a couple people have been doing. I'm not sure if its the same guy doing it or there are 2-3 of them. It's easy to distinguish between luck, skill, and hacks. I'm probably an average player - getting maybe 200-300 pph in normal games and get lucky sometimes. I know there are some very skilled players out there, some that go to tourneys professionally, and some of them have some awesome skill.
I was just commenting that it was surprising when I saw a couple of bots show up because I've been playing UT2k4 a lot since last November and hadn't noticed any before.
BTW, anyone know what happened to the UT global stats? It's been down since the beginning of May.
 
I play Onslaught, iCTF, TAM, vCTF, and AS-Trials. My name is always [dbm]SolidHayter. Sometimes (rarely) I will alias as sPincYcle. I started out playing UT2004 as an Instagib junky. I used to be ranked ~100 for iCTF and iDM. I haven't been playing it much lately, so I'm probably ranked around 500. On nights that I play a lot I'll usually rank 20 for the week.

I'd be interested in an ATOT server... I'd love to pwn you all at iCTF 🙂.

I don't have the computer for UT 2004. I invite all of you guys who are wondering about the game that started it all to come give the original UT '99 a try. No Super Mario double jumps. No puff-of-smoke sniper rifle. No bots counted as players in the server listings. Just pure wholesome fragging goodness and the CTF rocks.

I :heart: the original UT. 🙂

Mostly play IG-CTF, I'm not all that great (don't play as much as I used to), but I usually have fun doing it. Although I still enjoy UT2004 as well. 😛
 
I hate Onslaught, play everything else though and usually indulge in a game everyday. Especially love Instagib CTF and bombing run.

I feel the same....Onslaught basically IS halo.....a game i really really do not like, therefore I try and stay away from Onslaught...and besides, its not a true UT game....in my mind UT is and always will be a deathmatch

I have the full game. I've tried going on Cain's Lair and the Kona servers but those guys are too good, and I hate losing.

Yeah, it's true they are, but that's the way to get better.
Playing on the demo servers doesn't really improve skill all that much 😛

Yeah I play with KoNA a lot in PUG matches. KoNA/6lo/uMA/LCD/187. All them fellas (and some gals!).
