UT2003 [POLL]

I have to agree with the people saying that it is a "Quake III ripoff" and the "been there done that". The game just seems to be too fast paced. Maybe I'm getting old and just do not like that type of gameplay anymore.

Anyhow, I downloaded the NOLF 2 (Full Official Demo - just released 4-playable levels), and I was really impressed. Eventhough UT2003 and NOLF 2 are apples and oranges (massive multiplay vs stealthful single play), I must say that NOLF 2 was more enjoyable.

A little research found that both games are being released on the same day (October 1). I have the $ for one $50.00 game, and its going to be a tough decision. Eventhough I am leaning more towards NOLF 2 ATM.

I won't buy it for more than ~$20... I think the original is much better. The new one looks too much like a graphics card demo instead of something that tries to appear somewhat realistic (look how the weapons appeared in UT with textures/shape, vs. in UT2k3)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the demo lacks the textures that will be in the full version. I do not have the source, but I read somewhere that much texturing was left out of the demo in order to keep the download at a reasonable size.

I think it's alright. It's more my hardware than the game. Nothing really looks good when your getting 11-16 FPS. That's what it runs like on my P3 @ 807* w/ 512MB of PC133. I would definitely be a better game on a better system.

The engine is very efficient, so I'm sure it's not a problem with the CPU being underpowerd or a lack of RAM, it's probably your video card, what kind is it?

It's a good game. I should be getting a free copy of it shipped to me thanks from the guys @ Intel from CPL

it doesn't run that good on my system though..
