Ok.... so we all have been waiting for this game for a while now....

So I have a dedicated server by the name of ***ANANDTECH***DEMO*** in the deathmatch game for those of you with the demo version. (Currently DOWN)

Also, for those of you that have the retail version, I have a deathmatch game with all maps, bighead & quadjump mods, named ***ANADTECH***RETAIL***

No password, just this name....

If you guys have any requests, please speak up. (CTF night....ect....)

My Review so far : Graphics look great, but I want more than that dang it !!
I want to see my ammo for all my weapons in the HUD, not just the one I am using.
Get rid of the dang Bio-Sludge gun and give me something better....EDIT : THIS GUN IS NOW BETTER THAN B4 /EDIT
Long-Shot: Give me classes of players like in team-fortress... medic, demo, heavyweapons, spy.....

This is is good game, but I was hoping for more.....

They've given the biosludge weapon more power in UT2k3 and I've used it and actually like it more than before.
If you are in close combat with a bunch of people it works pretty good but not much match for the rocket launcher.

We should have a scheduled night where a bunch will compete online in some games.

I just saw someone who was running around invisable.... is this a cheat ??

I need to know to keep this a good server to play on.

Any cheaters will be booted.... :|

No, apparently you can do that with adrenaline (don't play UT2003 myself, but read about it)

Here are the Adrenaline commands:

Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward - Speed boost
Back, Back, Back, Back - Regeneration
(strafe) Right, Right, Left, Left - Invisibility
Forward, Forward, Back, Back - Berserk

No that's not a cheat. There are key combos you can do when you get 100 adrenaline.

Forward, Forward, Forward, Forward = Booster (run really fast)
Back, Back, Back, Back = Super Health (gradually builds up your health as it uses adrenaline)
Forward, Forward, Back, Back = Berserk
Right, Right, Left, Left = Invisible


Wow, I'd love to play on your server, but I just tried, and my pings are off the charts to it!

Mine too. I was pinging 600-800.

Mine would be like 140, and then every 2-3 minutes it would spike at 800-900 for like 30-40 seconds. It kept doing that. Weird thing is, I managed to win a game with that going on. :D

Wow.... sorry about that guys.... Darn cable just gives me slow uploads.

What would be good to know is, how many people got on when it slowed down ?

I could cap the max players to 8-10 or so ......

LOL ... I just have to share this UT2003 experience I just had. It was a huge player instagib game with like 15 on each side. I had gotten enough adrenaline so I picked invisibility and proceeded to constantly pick guys off at their spawn every second for like a minute. The highest kill phrase is "holy sh|t" and it just keyp saying it over and over. :)

edit: It wasn't at this server.

I just mopped up on your server. Too bad it was an empty victory, no one from Anandtech was on it...

It gets rather laggy when you hit 8+ users. Try turn the innitial connection timeouts and connection time outs down so people don't hog as much bandwidth...

DONE !! I cut both of those in half... FYI.

I need good input like this to tweek the server.... and I have an 8 player limit now too.

It could also be affected by my slow down by time of day on my cable... it seems to slow down when school gets out.

Anyway, lets keep trying.... I'm sure this will help when I get the full version and put up the full meal deal on this server :)

Q: How do I boot someone off of the server ? And how do I ban an IP ?

I'm not sure if you can do that with the demo, but you can put a password on it so that only people that know about it can join.

Yeah...I thought about a password.... but I would need alot of AT people to join in to play at a given time to make it worth while.

I would love to see a CTF night.... or Bombing run night... I would password it in a second for AT forum users to do that.

Right now, it's empty with DM and no PW..... so until I get more regulars.... that's where it will most likely stay.

That way, if 2 people want to fight, they can....just can't do that with CTF or BR.

How fast is your cable? How much upload do you have?
