Wait till doom3 hits....

Won't be as bad. I was reading my brand new PC Gamer (whilst dropping the kids off at the pool) and they had an interview with Carmack stating multiplayer is only going to support up to 4 vs. 4 play with an emphasis on 1 vs. 1.

The internet slowdown was a result of the huge demand to download the demo, not play it. When the doom 3 demo comes out, even more people will want to download it. The net will get hammered.

From UT2K3 to Britney Spears naked all in one thread, gotta love the transition 😀

For the record, I wasn't thrilled with UT2K3 either. Nothing new.

i didn't download the demo, nor is there is a high probability that i will, even less is the chance i'll buy the game.......i'm going to get bf1984 some day :Q

I'll say, how can you measure something like that with any accuracy anyway? As if the internet travels through one line, kinna odd.

1.2 million downloads over 5 days would not cut the speed of the Internet in half. THINK about it. Such a claim is idiotic and ridiculous.

Does anybody have any idea how much gets transferred over the P2Ps?

The "slowing down the Internet" blurb is nothing but marketing hype.

Am I the only one who thinks it's not all that great? I don't think the graphics are that much better than UT, and the game play isn't any better, IMO.

Maybe the graphics will be turned up a notch or two when the real game comes out?

I agree the graphics were REALLY hyped and i got it and i was greatly disappointed and gameplay is boring.

I loved UT and played it pretty hardcore but UT2003 doesn't do anything for me. The graphics don't even seem as good as the original since I could turn it up to 1600x1200. UT2003 I've got to keep at 1024x768 in order for it to run semi-decently. The gameplay doesn't seem as frantic as the original either.

I've pre-ordered it anyway partly out of nostalgia, partly out of hope that it turns out better than the original. In the meantime, I got Battlefield 1942 and that game is awesome. I could live with that for a while even if UT2003 doesn't work out.
