Wow, I've got an entire 100MB demo from nVidia site in about 5 mins. Pretty impressive when all other sites are so busy :)

I'm dissapointed. The graphics seem washed out and bland to me. I don't know quite how to describe it. I know its cliche, but the game really does feel like quake. I played UT for a solid 2 years after release, and I was hoping I'd want to do this same with 2k3. Maybe I'll get into it, but it feels so much different...

Edit: I'm still going to give it a chance. I really want to like it.

but does it work? I've downloaded from nVidia twice, and so did one of my friends, and it was corrupt every time

interesting. the game play seems odd to me. i play ut pretty religiously, and this is like a whole, new expierence to me. online play should be interesting to say the least. theres good things and things i dont like with this demo. im leaving work, so ill elaborate tomorrow. hmmmm. kinda at a lost of words, confused. i do enjoy the concept of bombing run, the whole idea of jumping through a portal of the enemy base carrying the 'ball' is like a neat spin off on ctf. the first map i played, it was dm, i forget what the name was, but i kept on saying to myself, turok, turok... any1 else get that feeling? other than that, iunno, like i said, still sorting out the good and bad. worth the hype? hmm, i dont quite think so. but then again, this is a demo, the final could be something else. i mean, with limited options, i guess i cant REALLY complain. the teleporter is gunna take some getting used to i tell you that much... other than that, im impressed with the maps, and the detail that went into the game. like i said, ill elaborate more tomorrow. enjoy your game guys and gals. =)

Not true. I just played it and it looks GORGEOUS.

What the heck. I'm starting to think something is messed up with mine. Maybe my expectations were just too high, but other games (NOLF 2 teaser for example) look much better to me.

Works perfectly for me. The mirror which I used is ftp://download.nvidia.com/downloads/Unreal2003

Not as nice as I expected.

Ran the benchmark, only got 25fps, in 640x480 on my old radeon
Noticed A LOT of artifacts, anyone else notice these? Mostly having to do with shawdows.

Relics of previous builds...I've seen problems like that before.

Still doesn't make it fair to judge a game based on a leaked alpha/beta...

as long as you use WINZIP the file is ok.

Hella fun game, graphics are ass. Where's the bumpmapping they were bragging about?

3.6 NVIDIA 40.41 drivers
------------------------

The NVIDIA 40.41 drivers are known to have visual flaws and performance
problems (hitching) with the Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo which are not
present in the 30.82 drivers. The issue has been addressed by NVIDIA
and future drivers released by NVIDIA will contain the appropriate fixes.

If you are currently running the 40.41 drivers please either downgrade
to 30.82 or install newer drivers when available.

for those that may be having artifacts with an nvidia card

Great game, just got out of a few online DMs. Noticed the colors do seem a bit washed in some areas out but the graphical detail is amazing. Action's really good and has kickass sounds and music - with exception of the voices, which are cheesy and repetetive. Weapons mostly correspond to UT's, though I didn't see any equivalent to the razorjack (?). No superweapons in this one (ion cannon or redeemer). The included maps are awesome, and much less flat than UTs, it's almost like a whole dimension was added to them that wasn't in UT. UT purists may not like it because its feel is a bit more quake-ish but overall most people seem to really like it, myself included. Can't wait till this hits shelves.
