UT. Unreal Tournament. Does it take forever for you to load it up?

I just installed it, and Its about 1-2 mintues just to load up.

i just timed it...19 seconds to get into the looping demo thing after double clicking the icon...1-2 mins sounds pretty bad. something ain't right.

if you're talking about loading up a new game once you're in...i dunno, but i know it's less than 19 secs.

that was probably just an exxageration, but I am planning on installing some mods, which i think will make the load time to the game itself, not the level, more waiting 🙁

when i first open UT it takes about 1 minute. i don't have slow machine... 1 Ghz, 256 ram, 64 DDR GTS vid card. i think its normal to take that long.

It can take minutes if you dont have the latest patch to remove the cd check. If you like at place like 3dspotlight there are tweaks to speed up boot up.

One good thing about UT is that levels load up very fast, so the only real wait you have is the 10-20 secs at the start

the patches that have been released have helped load time quite a bit just to let you know...

you mean the 436 patch? i have that...it still takes 1 minute to load. at least the leels load in like 5 secs.

15-20 seconds for me. Get the latest patch and turn off the intro movie.

hmm... my system is as follows... P3 866 not overclocked, 7200 rpm maxtor, geforce 256 32meg... i definetly saw a difference in load time when i upgraded to some of the patches... my load time is at about 25 seconds now...

I know. I hate it when the leels are loading slowly. The has got to be my one pet peeve.

Did it ever occur to you to try searching the forums (this has been addressed in other forums) or searching the Web? This has been brought up so many times!

MY GOD, IS there any thought you have that isn't posted in OT? Geez...all you are doing is wasting peoples time. This is has been covered and examined and discussed in hundreds of other places. Try getting out of AT OT for a while.

It doesn't tkae 1-2 minutes, but its much longer than Quake3 or CS.

takes like 20sec or so for me. 600mhz if I OC to 800mhz its like 10sec or faster.

When i first join a CS server it takes like a minute to go through all the authentication etc. Longer than UT
