here are my system specs:

barton 2500+ @ 2ghz 10x200
1gig pc3500 mem 2-2-2-6 @ 200
asus a7n8x delux nf2
GF4 ti4800 @ 275/600
20 gig 7200rpm 2mb buffer maxtor

for some odd reason my fps is stuck at about 60
i can overclock the cpu/mem/vid card and it has no affect on performance
also i can enable AA and AF and i get no performance hits
when i set the min desired frame rate in UT to a higher number this also has no effect

i even tryed reinstalling the game
also i have all the latest drivers on my system
i noticed too that i was having the same problem on my 1700+ system

anyone know how to fix this ??

i know this system should be getting over 100fps atleast
1024x768 @32 high detail DX are my settings
I also tryed opengl but the fps were the same

has anyone else had this problem ??

thanks in advance

are you running 60hz refresh rate? vsync will do that. turning it off is pointless unless you're doing it to show how large your ____ is, because it is highly unlikely you'll be able to perceive the difference.

You might want to download Refresh Force so you can up your refresh rate, 60Hz can hurt peoples eyes, something like 85Hz is better.

I can't tell the differences between refresh rates. If I ran at 60 Hz, I wouldn't know! My eyes don't get strained or nothing and I don't see flicker. But I run it higher anyways just because I'm told it's not good for your eyes and I can run it higher anyways.

If your still using DX I would switch to opengl. I tried playing UT again yesterday in 1800x1440 max details 4xaa 16xaf and ran it no problem.

If you are talking aboot UT 2003 though, DirectX is superior (OpenGL has lower image detail, if not performance).

Even if so it's still wise to run your monitor at maximum capacity, especially for games that are based around framerate. The higher the monitor's Hz then the more full frames per second you'll be able to see.

Get a program that shows you various framerates, and see what happens above 60fps. For monitor wear and tear, you shouldn't use the max refresh rate anyway. I like 85hz... I can't tell the difference any higher, and I know 60fps looks smooth to me (but 60hz flickers).
