Is Unreal Tournament copy protected? I'm trying to burn it and my NEC NR-7800A just wont start burning. (BTW, I'm using whatever Nero version that I D/Led about a week ago). Should I try Clone-CD?

i see no problems burning games.for me i would rather use the copied one so that my original dont get scratched up.example i wish i had a burner when i had motorcross madness, because now i cant play that game because it's way to scratch up.thats why a burner is for backup

The original UT uses SafeDisc I believe. The GOTY doesn't use protection (I don't know for sure though). You have to make a 1:1 copy then use a patch to circumvent the SafeDisc protection.

edit- although most of us will agree morally it's okay to make backups, but I remember a post by the mods that said not to talk about it anyways...

The first thing I do when I buy a new game is look for a no CD patch. Then I just install the game, apply the patch, and never have to touch the CD again. Call me lazy and impatient, but I hate having to put the game CD in the drive and wait for it to spin up every time I want to play.

i do that too but some games i cant get the patch to work(stupid me probably)or cant find a patch.for instance NFS high stakes i cant find the patch so i just use the backup, and diablo2 cant get the darn patch to work either

I don't own either one of those games, but I have been able to find a working no CD patch for every game I have.....maybe I'm just lucky. :)

Hey, some of us actually DO make backup copies..... If anyone wants my original Rainbow 6 CD, they can have it... as long as they pay shipping... because it is totally scratched up, courtsey of my little brother... I swear he tried to play frisbee with it. Its scratched up that bad.
